A fun place for my daughter and I to post artwork and what ever else we wish to share.

About me

User: Johntk1
Name: JK
I am a student at UMA. I am also a proud fulltime single dad, my daughter Olivia (age 9) is smarter than me, I just haven’t told her yet. Self improvement is very important to me, after all why are we really here if not to make the very best of what we have. Music is a huge part of my life. I learned to play guitar at age 14. I find a way to make music a part of my life every day. I also love movies and video games, great restaurants/great food/cooking, reading, board games, hiking, swimming and who knows what else, I am not done yet.

Beth Orton, Comfort of Strangers

I have been listening to Beth Orton for about ten years now. She has just released her fourth album, Comfort of Strangers and I am not disappointed at all! She has a beautiful voice and plays kind of folky with some electronic beats. She is not exactly straightforward, her songs take a direction that you would least expect. She seams melon collie but her music creates an environment that you can feel safe in. Very mellow yes, but her sound emanates optimism. If I was to compare her someone else, I would have to she is most like Kate Bush in the way that she is unlike anyone I have ever heard.
